{"id":18733,"date":"2021-08-13T16:23:19","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T14:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=18733"},"modified":"2021-08-13T16:39:24","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T14:39:24","slug":"eu-signals-the-need-for-a-common-market-that-includes-all-six-countries-of-the-western-balkans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/eu-signals-the-need-for-a-common-market-that-includes-all-six-countries-of-the-western-balkans\/","title":{"rendered":"EU signals the need for a Common Market that includes all six countries of the Western Balkans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EU is asking the Western Balkans to create a joint regional market, but one that includes all 6 countries, not only Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia, but Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Hercegovina as well.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson for Neighborhood and Enlargement for the EU, Ana Pisonero told \u2018Express Newspaper\u2019 today in Brussels that she \u201cwelcomes the engagements of political leaders for regional cooperation\u201d, but that \u201cit is fundamental that the process includes the entire region\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Pisonero made a reminder that regional cooperation \u201cis a fundamental element of the European perspective of the Western Balkans\u201d while being \u201ca part of the process of Stabilization-Association\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the US Department of State shared a similar approach pointing to all-inclusivity.<\/p>\n<p>On November 2020, the Second Summit was held in Sofia after the one of 2018, where countries of the region signed the joint agenda for the \u201cGreen Agreement\u201d as well as the \u201cCommon Regional Market\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement for a regional market aims to achieve the free movement of people, goods, services and capital by the year 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on November 2019, leaders from Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia had declared the regional initiative \u2018Minischengen\u201d, which aimed to form a joint economic zone and free movement.<\/p>\n<p>Montenegro, Bosnia Hercegovina and Kosovo refused to become part of this initiative.
