On September 10th<\/sup> the first plenary session for the new parliament will convene but 5 MPs, who were elected on April 25th<\/sup> have given up on their parliamentary seat. Tom Doshi, Gramoz Ruci, Mark Marku, Najada Como and Lefter Koka have decided to not be a part of the new legislature.<\/p>\n

Tom<\/strong> Doshi<\/strong><\/h5>\n

2 days after the April 25th<\/sup> elections, Tom Doshi refused to keep his mandate.<\/p>\n

His renouncement came as a response to the US ambassador in Albania, Yuri Kim\u2019s statement that he shouldn\u2019t be part of the next parliament due to him being recently declared non-grata by the US Department of State.<\/p>\n

Doshi backed up his resignation by arguing that his decision was meant to protect his name \u201cafter numerous attempts that were aiming to dishonor it\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tom Doshi will be replaced by two new MPs representing PSD in parliament, namely Jetmira Raboshta from the list of Shkodra and Gertjan Deda from Tirana.<\/p>\n

Gramoz Ru\u00e7i<\/strong><\/h5>\n

During his speech at the Extraordinary Congress of the Socialist Party that was held on June 12th<\/sup>, Gramoz Ruci stated his resignation from all functions at the Socialist Party, including his mandate that had been recently awarded to him by socialist voters in Fier.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ruci has told Euronews Albania that he is still a Socialist, a family man and the ultimate grandfather.<\/p>\n

Ruci\u2019s resignation is bringing Mirela Pitushi to the new parliament.<\/p>\n

Mark Marku<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A week ago, Mark Marku gave up his seat in the new parliament, where he would represent the county of Lezha.<\/p>\n

He told Euronews Albania that the reasoning behind his resignation was a \u201cclash of ideas with the present leadership of the Democratic Party\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lately, Marku has been a critical voice within the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

During DP\u2019s National Assembly, he claimed that the Democratic Party was at a critical point.<\/p>\n

Based on the Electoral Code, Marku\u2019s mandate goes to Elda Hoti.<\/p>\n

Najada \u00c7omo<\/strong><\/h5>\n

On September 1st<\/sup>, the Chair of the Infective Hospital, Najada Como relinquished her mandate, which was won in Tirana.<\/p>\n

The news was announced by PM Edi Rama, who pointed out that the reason for Como\u2019s resignation was her devotion to a rising number of COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n

Como\u2019s mandate will now go to the former Defense Minister, Mimi Kodheli.<\/p>\n

Lefter Koka<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Lefter Koka gave up his seat in parliament, after running for the Socialist Party on April 25th<\/sup>\u2019s elections in the county of Durres.<\/p>\n

Through a post on social media, Koka thanked everyone who voted for him but failed to make the reasons for his decision public.<\/p>\n

Lefter Koka\u2019s mandate will now go to Ana Dhamo.<\/p>\n
