{"id":19917,"date":"2021-09-09T14:58:42","date_gmt":"2021-09-09T12:58:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=19917"},"modified":"2021-09-09T15:00:07","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T13:00:07","slug":"appeal-court-postpones-decision-on-former-general-prosecutor-llalla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/appeal-court-postpones-decision-on-former-general-prosecutor-llalla\/","title":{"rendered":"Appeal Court postpones decision on former general prosecutor Llalla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Special Court of Appeal has postponed its ruling on former general prosecutor Adriatik Llalla to September 22, after the latter appealed the decision of the first instance court.<\/p>\n<p>SPAK had sought a 2-year jail sentence as well as banning Llalla from holding a public post for the next 5 years, a request granted by the First Instance Court.<\/p>\n<p>Lalla\u2019s attorney declared during the trial that the defendant is in hospital and could not attend as he suffers from an incurable disease.<\/p>\n<p>However, the defendant\u2019s request to administer the expert evidence was overturned by the Special Appeal\u2019s Court.<\/p>\n<p>The expert evidence put forward by Lalla\u2019s attorney was over his health conditions, several bank receipts that allegedly justify the birth costs of his son in the United States, as well as the value of his home.<\/p>\n<p>Four months ago, Adriatik Lllalla was declared guilty by the Special Court on charges related to the concealment of wealth.
