{"id":20296,"date":"2021-09-15T10:05:50","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T08:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=20296"},"modified":"2021-09-15T10:12:35","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T08:12:35","slug":"albania-ranks-72-out-of-110-countries-over-money-laundering-risks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania-ranks-72-out-of-110-countries-over-money-laundering-risks\/","title":{"rendered":"Albania ranks 72 out of 110 countries over money laundering risks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Basel Index is an independent annual ranking, and mean of evaluation, on the dangers posed by money laundering and terrorist funding.<\/p>\n<p>In a list of 110 countries, <a href=\"https:\/\/index.baselgovernance.org\/ranking\">Albania ranked 72<\/a>, with an overall score of 5.72 points (0 = low risk to 10 = high risk), dropping 28 spots from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Albania scored lower on financial transparency, followed by corruption and bribe.<\/p>\n<p>The Basel Index highlighted that Albania is one of the countries on the gray list of the Task Force for Financial Action.<\/p>\n<p>Last February, Albania was once again placed on the gray list for money laundering, after it was removed in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Klodian Mu\u00e7o, an expert in economy, said that the main sectors affected are construction, agriculture and tourism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the last couple of years, we see that the situation has deteriotated, due to corruption and organized crime.
