Kosovo has expressed its willingness to engage in a dialogue with Serbia and proposed that both countries remove the temporary license plates.<\/p>\n

This was confirmed by Prime Minister Albin Kurti during a press conference in which he called on Kosovo\u2019s Serbs to remove the blockade.<\/p>\n

After defending the reciprocity decision, Kurti said he\u2019s open to finding a solution, but one that is in conformity with the country\u2019s Constitution. He said that the streets blocked in the north, as a means of protest, were done by trucks owned by local institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI invite the heads of the municipalities north of Ibar to remove the vehicles of municipal institutions and I also invite the group organized by Serb citizens to move away from regional roads, because the only ones who they\u2019re blocking are themselves and their movement\u201d.<\/p>\n

Kurti noted that he has already spoken to top EU officials over the removal of temporary license plates.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe favor the dialogue, and we have also confirmed this to Brussels, including High Commissioner Josep Borrell as well as EU envoy for the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajcak. But our pragmatism is limited by the law and constitutionality of Kosovo. Our public offer is very practical. Let\u2019s remove the temporary license plates so that citizens can move freely and without delays\u201d, Kurti concluded.<\/p>\n
