{"id":21164,"date":"2021-09-28T11:23:57","date_gmt":"2021-09-28T09:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=21164"},"modified":"2021-09-28T12:08:43","modified_gmt":"2021-09-28T10:08:43","slug":"cop-killed-in-lezha-during-an-anti-cannabis-crackdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/cop-killed-in-lezha-during-an-anti-cannabis-crackdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Cop killed in Lezha during an anti-cannabis drug raid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lezha PD police officer, Saimir Hoxha has been killed during a drug bust in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Sources close to Euronews Albania affirm that the officer was shot when together with his colleagues, he was searching for narcotics, namely cannabis plants, during an anti-drug operation.<\/p>\n<p>Hoxha was unfortunately not able to make it and gave up on his way to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Early signs point to the shooter being a citizen, identified as Aldo Rama, who is said to have opened fire against the officers, after which only Saimir Hoxha was shot.<\/p>\n<p>The police have now surrounded the entire area, and his arrest is only a matter of time.<\/p>\n<p>RENEA special forces have also headed to the scene, including FNSH groups and a special investigation unit from the General Directory of the State Police.<\/p>\n<p><em>More to follow&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lezha PD police officer, Saimir Hoxha has been killed during a drug bust in the city.
