{"id":21353,"date":"2021-09-29T18:20:10","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T16:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=21353"},"modified":"2021-09-29T18:22:27","modified_gmt":"2021-09-29T16:22:27","slug":"albania-and-spain-sign-extradition-treaty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania-and-spain-sign-extradition-treaty\/","title":{"rendered":"Albania and Spain sign extradition treaty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Albania and Spain have signed a treaty paving the way to the extradition of citizens convicted of various felonies.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Minister Ulsi Manja said that the treaty serves also to prove that there is more trust between judicial authorities in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis agreement is a sign of a strong trust, between judicial authorities from our two countries\u201d, the justice minister said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Manja, the agreement aims to \u2018increase cooperation\u2019 and \u2018improve respective institutions\u2019, which carry out the extradition of dangerous criminal elements living in Albania or Spain.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the agreement also conveys a clear message to the underworld.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is a clear signal conveyed to the crime world about our relations with the Kingdom of Spain in the criminal field\u2019, tweeted Manja.<\/p>\n<p>The Albanian and Spanish police carried out a major drug bust in September which led to the arrest of 107 people involved in narcotrafficking.
