{"id":21443,"date":"2021-09-30T13:23:55","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T11:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=21443"},"modified":"2021-09-30T13:24:34","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T11:24:34","slug":"arben-ahmetaj-economy-grew-by-17-89-e50-million-to-support-tourism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/arben-ahmetaj-economy-grew-by-17-89-e50-million-to-support-tourism\/","title":{"rendered":"Arben Ahmetaj: Economy grew by 17.89%, \u20ac50 million to support tourism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj declared that during the second semester of 2021, GDP grew by 17.89%.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that compared to the same period from last year, the main economic branches indicate considerable growth, especially in construction (41.6%).<\/p>\n<p>He added that exports increased by 130%, and imports by 53.6%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are important trends for an economic recovery\u201d, said deputy premier Ahmetaj, adding that there has been a rise in family consumption.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, from January 2020 to January 2021, all jobs lost due to the pandemic have been restored and presented a figure of 692,468 people employed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEconomic growth is turning to a positive trajectory toward the objective for an annual average growth above 4.5%, as outlined in the government\u2019s program\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmetaj promised additional support for tourism, transport, and manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u20ac50 million in support for enterprises in the tourism sector, \u20ac5 million for enterprises in the field of transportation and support for IT companies\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy prime minister, responding to a question from Euronews Albania, said that in case the economic growth exceeds the government\u2019s forecasts, a revision of the budget might be considered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re still in a pandemic and the post-earthquake reconstruction program is very dynamic, therefore we might have to review the budget, even for another positive reason, because revenue performed beyond forecasts.
