{"id":22521,"date":"2021-10-14T14:47:51","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T12:47:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=22521"},"modified":"2021-10-14T14:50:10","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T12:50:10","slug":"venice-on-june-30-2019-the-constitutional-has-no-competence-to-assert-electoral-legitimacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/venice-on-june-30-2019-the-constitutional-has-no-competence-to-assert-electoral-legitimacy\/","title":{"rendered":"Venice on June 30, 2019: The Constitutional lacks competence to assert electoral legitimacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow, the Venice Commission is bound to publish its final standing in regards to the legitimacy of the Albanian municipal elections that took place on June 30, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>This official assessment<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania\/2021\/06\/23\/legitimacy-of-the-local-elections-constitutional-court-turns-to-venice-commission\/\"> was requested<\/a><\/strong> from them by the Constitutional Court, which after having reviewed the lawsuit filed by the National Association of Municipalities, presented the Venice Commission with 3 questions.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission\u2019s final report is said to include amongst other things, the viewpoint that the Constitutional Court lacks the competency to make a judgment regarding the legitimacy or lack thereof, of the 2019 municipal elections.<\/p>\n<p>Back in June, the Constitutional Court sent a formal request to Venice, in regards to the disputed final results of the 2019 local elections in Albania, which were held without the participation of the opposition.
