Both Kosovo and North Macedonia are getting closer to their municipal elections day, poised to take place this Sunday when citizens will have the chance to vote for their new commune mayors.<\/p>\n

In Kosovo, cities like Prishtina, Mitrovica and Prizren are seen as the main hotspots, where the pressure between candidates running in the race for mayor will be intense.<\/p>\n

On the other side of the border, Skopje and Tetovo represent the main cities in North Macedonia, where the mayoral showdown will unravel.<\/p>\n

The majority of promises made by mayoral candidates from both countries were mostly focused on investments in infrastructure. Today is the last day of the electoral campaign.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, Saturday will be Election Silence, whereas the Central Electoral Commissions will be making their final preparations prior to the start of the electoral process on Sunday.<\/p>\n

In Kosovo, there will be around 41 thousand newly eligible voters, that will have the chance to vote for either one of the candidates running for mayor in their commune, whilst the overall number of voters this year is estimated to be around 1 million and 885 thousand.<\/p>\n

In North Macedonia, there\u2019s a total of 301 candidates that will be going head-to-head for the chance to lead one of the country\u2019s 80 communes.<\/p>\n
