{"id":23713,"date":"2021-10-27T13:20:20","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T11:20:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=23713"},"modified":"2021-10-27T13:20:20","modified_gmt":"2021-10-27T11:20:20","slug":"prosecution-begins-probe-into-mass-poisoning-incident-in-kruja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/prosecution-begins-probe-into-mass-poisoning-incident-in-kruja\/","title":{"rendered":"Prosecution begins probe into mass poisoning incident in Kruja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kruja Prosecution has begun investigations into the case of 500 residents that were poisoned yesterday and had to receive urgent care.<\/p>\n<p>The judicial body also announced that investigations are being run for the offense of \u2018Air, water and land pollution\u2019 causing direct harm to civilians.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors are also running tests and gathering expertise amongst poisoned citizens, in order to find out exactly what caused the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, expert groups have been called to work on the ground and gather physio-chemical and bacterial samples of the drinking water in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Around 500 citizens are thought to have been poisoned yesterday in Kruja, amongst whom children.<\/p>\n<p>Early signs pointed to pollution in the city\u2019s tap water, but the exact chemical or instrument that might have caused this remains unclear.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of citizens who were hospitalized received their treatment and walked out shortly after.
