{"id":23812,"date":"2021-10-28T16:39:40","date_gmt":"2021-10-28T14:39:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=23812"},"modified":"2021-10-28T16:48:26","modified_gmt":"2021-10-28T14:48:26","slug":"government-to-review-vat-threshold-excise-duties-and-tax-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/government-to-review-vat-threshold-excise-duties-and-tax-rates\/","title":{"rendered":"Government to review VAT threshold, excise duties, and tax rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Albanian government is set to carry out several changes to the 2022 budget, including reviewing the VAT taxable turnover, payroll taxes, excise duties, and tax rates.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Ministry of Finance plans to implement a sustainable fiscal package for 2022-2025.<\/p>\n<p>The government is set to intervene in the VAT threshold, excise, and tax rates, forecasting a 3.1 % increase in tax revenues.<br \/>\nThe tax review is in line with the advice of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which recommends simplifying thresholds for all types of taxes, as current policies have led to tax evasion and injustices in fair taxation.<\/p>\n<p>Wage tax thresholds, for example, have created opportunities for artificial tax evasion.
