Albanian, Kosovar, Macedonian, and Montenegrin hikers got together to climb the top of the Magaro mountain, located in the National Park of Galicica in North Macedonia, known to Albanian locals as \u201cMali i Thate\u201d an initiative that aims to promote tourism in the region.<\/p>\n

Arineta Mula, an alpinist from Kosovo, has climbed to the top of the world, Mount Everest. She tells us that the beautiful thing about nature is that it knows no borders or nationalities.<\/p>\n

\u201cNature knows no borders, no states nor nationalities. It\u2019s like love, which stops at nothing. We are here now, I am glad that there are people from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. We\u2019re having a really good time,\u201d Arineta tells us.<\/p>\n

Even the other tour guides are quite enthusiastic about the initiative.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should have more collaborations like this because as we know, we come from small countries which diminishes what we have to offer, so if we cooperate with other countries in the region, we could develop our activities even further and earn much more than what we do ourselves alone. I hope that by the end of the week we\u2019ll be able to finalize something and come up with something we can work together on\u201d, says Arian Krasniqi, an alpinist from Kosovo.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very important to have regional cooperation on tourism because we need to work together. If we work together, we can show off the beauties of our countries and be more successful\u201d, says Sekula Sarevski, a hiker from North Macedonia.<\/p>\n

Rubin Nikoloski, a hiking instructor from North Macedonia, also believes that cooperation could boost tourism in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Western Balkans have shown that when there is cooperation, more tourists come to these destinations. The quality of tourism enhances and so does the number of tourists\u201d, he says.<\/p>\n

Albanian hiking trainer Mimoza Gega made an appeal to all women who would like to give it a shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s never too late, I\u2019d say. Myself, I had thought that I had reached a certain age and perhaps it is a bit late to get into this, but now I think that it\u2019s never too late. We should try out everything, why not? And I also believe that it is a very good way to help ourselves and have a motive in life\u201d, Gega says.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the initiative is to build strong cooperation bridges and promote touristic spots in the Western Balkans.<\/p>\n

The peak of the National Park of Galicica stands 2,500 meters above sea level.<\/p>\n
