During the entire course of 2020, the most popular destinations amongst Albanian travelers inside the border were Vlora during the summer season and Korca, during the winter.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the most popular countries for travelers going abroad were Turkey, Montenegro and Italy, all of which received a high influx of Albanian travelers in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Even though it was a year characterized by restrictions due to the pandemic, INSTAT has registered a considerable number of travelers both for business and leisure, who stayed abroad for an average of 4.6 days per trip.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the number of travels was close to 5.35 million.<\/p>\n<p>According to district authorities, Tirana, Vlora and Durres, were the cities that received the most visitors during the entire course of the year, both for business and personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>When considering age, about 45% of trips inside the country or abroad, were taken by 24 to 34-year-olds, whereas the lowest influx of travelers was amongst senior citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, younger generations seem to have stayed in a foreign country for a period lasting 1-3 days, whereas citizens over the age of 75 seem to prefer vacations that last at least 4 days or longer.<\/p>\n<p>Around 3.1 million trips were undertaken by car \u2013 which make up about 96.4 percent of all travels in 2020, due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Stats also showed that the most preferred mode of accommodation for Albanians when traveling was staying with their relatives, followed by hotels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/balkans\/2021\/10\/29\/climbing-to-the-peak-of-the-magaro-mountain-to-promote-western-balkans-tourism\/\">Climbing to the peak of the Magaro mountain to promote Western Balkans\u2019 tourism<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania\/2021\/08\/22\/pilgrimage-to-tomor-mountain-thousands-of-bektashi-pilgrims-climb-to-the-kulmak-tekke\/\">Pilgrimage to Tomor Mountain, thousands of Bektashi pilgrims climb to Kulmak Tekke<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/programs\/travellers\/2021\/07\/20\/discovering-tepelena-bounded-by-breathtaking-mountains-and-canyons\/\">Discovering Tepelena, bounded by breathtaking mountains and canyons<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div class=\"spot-im-replies-count\" data-post-id=\"eneu23914\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last year, Albanians are reported to have gone on well over 3.2 million trips.
