The gruesome murder of an 8-year-old boy in Fier indicates that the entire chain of the justice system has failed, declared the Albanian President Ilir Meta.<\/p>\n

On Facebook, President Meta said that the \u2018horrific crime\u2019 does have an author, but pointed the finger at his \u201ccollaborators\u201d, which \u201cdid not fulfill their obligations paving the way to this criminal act\u201d.<\/p>\n

But according to the president, the fact that various institutional representatives are denouncing the crime is simply not enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cConcrete steps need to be taken on strengthening the investigation and preventing similar occurrences from individuals that visibly have a tendency to be a recidivist and be involved in criminal behavior, for whom the penitentiary rehabilitating system has failed\u201d, wrote Meta.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday evening, the police found the eight-year-old boy murdered and buried in the backyard of his neighbor after locals had seen him interact with the minor earlier during the day. The author, Klodian Calamani, has admitted to committing the crime.<\/p>\n
