{"id":26299,"date":"2021-11-30T09:52:19","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T08:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=26299"},"modified":"2021-11-30T13:13:45","modified_gmt":"2021-11-30T12:13:45","slug":"doctor-recounts-details-of-patient-infected-with-omicron-variant-in-italy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/doctor-recounts-details-of-patient-infected-with-omicron-variant-in-italy\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctor recounts details of patient infected with Omicron in Italy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Albert Troci said on Euronews Albania\u2019s \u2018Morning\u2019 show that the first patient confirmed to have contracted the Omicron variant in his clinic in Italy, hasn\u2019t exhibited any serious symptoms, and that he had been fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Troci continued by stating that the heavy viral presence in this first patient is what urged doctors to conduct further tests and a specialized analysis that is what ultimately made it possible for them to identify the new COVID variant.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Fortunately, the patient and his family aren\u2019t showing any serious clinical symptoms because he is a fully vaccinated patient,\u201d \u2013 said Dr. Troci, underlining that the virus has much higher transmissibility and can be spread around much faster than the Delta variant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can run a normal test and tests specifically for variants or a VST (Variant-Specific Test).
