4.4% of Albanian citizens over the age of 18, have personally been victims of a crime sometime during the past 12 months. About half of them (46.6%) have been victims of theft.<\/p>\n
Tonight, Euronews Albania\u2019s weekly Barometer focused on the topic of personal safety amongst Albanian citizens. Based on the data retrieved by its most recent poll, the most common types of theft going on in our country are home burglaries, car theft, and the theft of motorbikes and regular bicycles.<\/p>\n
Property damages, including damage to real estate, motor vehicles, or other objects of value, have been reported by around 30% of citizens that have fallen victim to a crime during the last 12 months.<\/p>\n
Around 5% suffered from sexual harassment or assault. All of them were women \u2013 10 % of girls and women who were victims of crime in the past 12 months, were faced with sexual abuse or sexual harassment.<\/p>\n
Victims of armed assault account for 2% of the total number of crime victims.<\/p>\n
Only half of those who suffered a crime in the past 12 months, said that they reported these crimes to the police, mainly through pressing charges at a district police station or through phoning the cops.<\/p>\n
Euronews Albania\u2019s poll in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum included 1.000 in-person interviews conducted at a national level during a timespan ranging from November 20-30, 2021.<\/p>\n
