Lumturi Blloshmi will be the artist representing our country\u2019s pavilion at the 59th<\/sup> edition of the International Art Biennale in Venice.<\/p>\n

The artist, unfortunately, passed away a year ago from COVID-19 and in order to honor her life\u2019s work, curator Adela Demetja said that the process of selection for 10-12 of her works, which will make up Albania\u2019s pavilion in Venice is underway. In addition, she said that there will be an additional two contributions to this pavilion, as a tribute to Blloshmi.<\/p>\n

An experimental documentary film in collaboration with a Mexican director as well as the launch of a digital archive of her life\u2019s work will be available for public viewing from April – November 2022.<\/p>\n

We know little of her, which is why this project will give us a chance to get to know her better, said the curator.<\/p>\n

\u201cLume is known as one of the first Albanian artists that have incorporated performance in her work. She then moved on to installation, photography, sculpture, while always adding hints and a presence of panting in these modern mediums,\u201d \u2013 said Demetja.<\/p>\n

Some of Lumturi Blloshmi\u2019s work can be found at the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art.<\/p>\n
