Sali Berisha and his supporters were seen entering the headquarters of the Democratic Party on Monday.<\/p>\n
They held a meeting on reforming the Democratic Party. Berisha stated that a decision has been made to hold a referendum a let the party\u2019s members decide on Basha\u2019s dismissal from his function as party leader.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main duty of this week of revolution is to hold a members\u2019 referendum that will ratify the decision made during DP\u2019s Assembly, on Basha\u2019s dismissal. A commission was approved here today, that will lead this referendum,\u201d \u2013 said Berisha, adding that the \u2018former chair, Basha, has performed actions within the Democratic Party that are on the same level as electoral crimes\u201d.<\/p>\n
In his word after the meeting ended, Berisha said that \u201cpolitical pluralism is being restored in Albania\u201d and referred to the December 11 assembly as \u201cthe most democratic in the history of the Democratic Party\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis party does not exclude minorities; it has given them an opportunity to stay as a fraction. MP Basha will be a member of the parliamentary group. He was discharged by the assembly. But in full respect of the membership of the Democratic Party, they will have their say on Basha on December 18\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
When entering the party’s headquarters, Berisha told media that the reason why he and supporters went there was to \u201cbring the will of the majority\u201d.<\/p>\n
“We are here to bring the will of the majority of Albanian democrats. As you may see, these are the members of the temporary commission of the Democratic Party elected in the last assembly who have come here to discuss important issues about the future”, said Berisha.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the National Council of the Democratic Party decided to dismiss the chairman of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Edi Paloka and several members of the presidency: Flamur Noka, Aldo Bum\u00e7i, Gent Strazimiri, Albana Vokshi, Oerd Bylybashi, and secretaries: Ervin Minarolli, Ivi Kaso, Belind Kelli\u00e7i and Ledina Mandia.<\/p>\n
The DP also approved a resolution that nullifies all decisions taken at the Assembly held on Saturday that was called by Berisha.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, the National Assembly convened from Berisha voted to discharge Lulzim Basha from the party\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
