As the end-of-the-year festivities approach, a considerable rise in prices has been noticed in the market of fruits and vegetables.<\/p>\n
For citizens, prices have been unaffordable whereas traders say that prices are low but buying power has gone down.<\/p>\n
Citizens however admit that these products have definitely become more expensive.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re very expensive. In these past few months, we haven\u2019t been able to buy food and vegetables. We\u2019re retired. I\u2019m coming around and still haven\u2019t bought anything,\u201d \u2013 said a citizen in one of the local markets.<\/p>\n
\u201cPrices are fine, they haven\u2019t gone up. But, on New Years they will go up like always,\u201d \u2013 said another citizen.<\/p>\n
For market vendors, the problem is elsewhere. They say that prices in their markets haven\u2019t changed but that the buying power has gone down.<\/p>\n
