{"id":27510,"date":"2021-12-16T12:20:25","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T11:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=27510"},"modified":"2021-12-16T12:21:34","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T11:21:34","slug":"minister-cuci-deal-with-britain-safeguards-national-and-regional-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/minister-cuci-deal-with-britain-safeguards-national-and-regional-security\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister Cuci: Deal with Britain safeguards national and regional security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Guaranteeing safe migration remains one of our main objectives in domestic affairs, declared Interior minister Bledi Cuci during his remarks on Thursday\u2019s plenary session while discussing a deal with the UK on repatriating and integrating Albanian nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Cuci said that the two countries should enhance cooperation when it comes to illegal migration in order to prevent criminals from getting their hands on that, with the most obvious being human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuaranteeing safe and standard migrant, through and from Albania \u2013 a phenomenon that has direct implications in the country\u2019s national security and that of our neighbors \u2013 remains one of our main priorities\u201d, the interior minister said.<\/p>\n<p>Among others, he urged lawmakers to ratify the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlbania and Britain will step up the battle against migration where the two countries will carry an operation against migration. The agreement is in compliance with domestic and international legislations\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement was proposed by the British government after Brexit. Minister Cuci said that the two parties have found a common language on integrating Albanian expats living in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIllegal migration cannot be addressed without improving the conditions of legal emigration first.
