The National Assembly of the Democratic Party convened today at the Palace of Congress adopted a resolution proposed by the National Council.<\/p>\n
The resolution approved on December 12 and adopted today deems the assembly called by former PM Sali Berisha as \u201cunlawful\u201d.<\/p>\n
As a consequence, the decisions adopted at Berisha\u2019s assembly become null and have no political or legal repercussions for the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n
In the resolution, it says that the \u201cBerisha movement\u201d comes as an effort to delegitimize the institutions of the Democratic from being \u00a0\u201cthe most pro-Western force in the country\u201d, while aiming to protect Berisha\u2019s personal interests only.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Democratic Party will fend off any movements that run counter to its determined identity, the interests of Democrats and the Albanian people, and the vital strategic ties that the Albanian nation has with the United States\u201d, a statement from the resolution read.<\/p>\n
DP\u2019s Assembly adopts decision barring any \u201cpersona non-grata\u201d from executive posts<\/strong><\/p>\n Anyone designated \u2018persona non-grata\u2019 will not be entitled to an executive post at the Democratic Party. This was one of the decisions adopted at DP\u2019s assembly.<\/p>\n \u201cPublic designations are incompatible to any executive posts in the DP.
