Lulzim Basha declared that there was \u201cnever a referendum\u201d to discharge him, while calling on Democrats to unite, in a press conference held shortly after Sali Berisha left.<\/p>\n

\u201cLegitimacy and democracy is not about the number of people that somebody is able to gather at a certain time. It\u2019s a process. Legitimacy stems from the process. Today the Democratic Party had one political activity only \u2013 the National Assembly convened as per its Constitution\u201d, declared Basha.<\/p>\n

He also added that the decisions<\/a> that were taken today point to a new chapter.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday the Democratic Party cleansed itself from the shadows of its past, it\u2019s closer to its people and their problems\u201d, added Basha.<\/p>\n

The Democratic Party, led by Basha, held its National Assembly where it ruled to remove and bar from executive posts all members declared \u201cnon grata\u201d, as well as those who have collaborated with the communist regime in the past.<\/p>\n

According to the resolution, all decisions taken on December have no political or legal value.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no referendum. These are just some members whom I call on joining the decisions taken from our institutions\u201d, declared Basha indicating clearly that he does not recognize the referendum initiated by former PM Sali Berisha.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
