{"id":28176,"date":"2021-12-24T12:32:02","date_gmt":"2021-12-24T11:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=28176"},"modified":"2021-12-24T12:32:22","modified_gmt":"2021-12-24T11:32:22","slug":"kosovos-appeal-court-confirms-indictment-on-former-integration-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/kosovos-appeal-court-confirms-indictment-on-former-integration-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Kosovo\u2019s Appeal Court upholds indictment on former integration minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kosovo\u2019s Court of Appeal confirmed the indictment on the former Minister for European Integration Dhurata Hoxha along with five other officials.<\/p>\n<p>As a consequence, the court upheld the judgment that the defendants are to be tried for abuse of office.<\/p>\n<p>Criminal proceedings began in 2019 in connection with the allegations that the defendants had used public funds to lobby for border changes, as a viable solution for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>The Appeal dismissed the defendants\u2019 arguments as unfounded and upheld the indictment of Pristina\u2019s Basic Court.<\/p>\n<p>The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo indicted the former minister and other alleged officials that cooperated with her, in July.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants have pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kosovo\u2019s Court of Appeal confirmed the indictment on the former Minister for European Integration Dhurata Hoxha along with five other officials.
