Meanwhile, former PM Sali Berisha is currently holding a parallel meeting in Shkoder, which is also meant to celebrate the 31st-anniversary of the foundation of DP\u2019s branch in this district.<\/p>\n
After the infamous protest that took place at DP\u2019s headquarters in Tirana, on January 8, both Basha and Berisha have embarked on a campaign of town hall meetings across the country.<\/p>\n
Basha: Berisha is doing the greatest service to PM Rama <\/strong><\/p>\n During his speech, this Sunday afternoon, DP chair, Lulzim Basha, said that Albania isn\u2019t a poor nation, but rather, a nation that has been robbed. The most significant steps we\u2019ve taken as a nation since the 90s, according to him, were taken by the Democratic Party \u2013 referring here to Albania\u2019s membership in NATO and visa liberalization.<\/p>\n In regards to Berisha, Basha said that Democrats have sacrificed many of their self-interests and that the former PM is instead doing a great service to Rama, by allowing for this internal rift amongst Democrats.<\/p>\n Berisha: Rama is holding Basha hostage through corruption <\/strong><\/p>\n In his speech, Berisha said that Rama has installed a narco-state, after arresting 34 thousand Albanians in 8 years for civil disputes \u2013 something, which according to Berisha, hasn\u2019t happened anywhere else in the world.
