It is inexcusable that women bear the brunt of violence &amp; conflict but are denied a role in their resolution &amp; peacebuilding <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/K6nmyZXcsC\">pic.twitter.com\/K6nmyZXcsC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Olta Xha\u00e7ka\ud83c\udde6\ud83c\uddf1 (@xhacka_olta) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/xhacka_olta\/status\/1483497547809312768?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 18, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>She recalled that not long ago, sexual harassment was used as a weapon against thousands of women in Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI say this as a lesson that we Albanians learned from history. We saw that in Kosovo. Women were left behind to take care of children and collect the remnants of the war\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Albanian FMA said that women were \u201craped, tortured and killed\u201d as part of an intentional and criminal ethnic cleansing campaign.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that more than 20,000 citizens were sexually abused during the war in Kosovo.
