On one side, Omicron has come in a milder form. A part of the population already had COVID, while others are vaccinated. Hospitals have relatively fewer cases and new infections are dropping\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the epidemiologist, measures were taken to avoid overburdening the health system in the first place and had nothing to do with infections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no logic in having COVID-19 measures\u201d, added Dr. Alimehmeti.<\/p>\n<p>He also recommended focusing on treating COVID-19 for the moment, rather than vaccinations.<\/p>\n<p>279 citizens tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, while the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.al\/\">official death count<\/a><\/strong> reached 3,453.<\/p>\n<p>But the epidemiological situation has improved significantly from last month, with active cases falling below 4,000.<\/p>\n<p>ER chief Dr. Skender Brataj, a member of the Technical Committee of Experts, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/programs\/today\/2022\/02\/22\/all-measures-to-be-lifted-in-march-claims-er-chief-brataj\/\">announced<\/a> <\/strong>on &#8216;Good Morning&#8221; that all measures will be lifted in March.<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania\/2022\/02\/22\/covid-19-situation-improving-as-active-cases-fall-below-4000\/\">COVID-19 situation improving as active cases fall below 4,000<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Epidemiologist Dr. Ilir Alimehmeti said on Good Morning that COVID-19 measures are \u201cno longer necessary\u201d.
