In addition, he emphasized that the US won’t be sending troops to Ukraine – seeing that it is not a NATO member state.

Attacks on Kyiv: The Ukrainian capital was first attacked and bombed on Tuesday. A maternity hospital was also hit, a few hours after the Russian army announced that they would undertake a series of “high-precision attacks” and told civilians in the area to leave. Russian rockets also targeted a transmission satellite, thus raising fears that Russia is trying to bring down the entire communication infrastructure in the city.

Other cities: Russian forces have now attacked all the main cities in Ukraine, by escalating bombings in the country’s second-largest city of Kharkiv. Early reports point to the Russian army taking the city of Kherson – a strategic and important city in northern Crimea. Crimea has been under Russian occupation since its annexation back in 2014.

Casualties: The UN said that at least 136 citizens including 13 children have been killed in Ukraine since the Russian incursion. However, the actual number of causalities could be much higher. The ministry of interior reported concerning stats on Sunday, saying that 352 civilians have been killed and 1 684 injured. In addition, Ukrainian officials have also claimed that at least 6.000 Russian soldiers have died since the attack.

YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE

Ukrainian embassy in Albania calls for volunteer fighters

Vucic reacts to Kosovo’s request to speed up accession to NATO

‘We’re in a state of shock from shelling’, Ukrainian girls tell Euronews Albania

On February 23, at 04:00 AM, Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered attacks on Ukraine.
