{"id":32637,"date":"2022-03-08T11:07:42","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T10:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=32637"},"modified":"2022-03-08T11:07:42","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T10:07:42","slug":"rama-in-the-worst-case-scenario-well-suffer-from-oil-and-energy-shortages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/rama-in-the-worst-case-scenario-well-suffer-from-oil-and-energy-shortages\/","title":{"rendered":"Rama: In the worst-case scenario, we\u2019ll suffer from oil and energy shortages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The government can\u2019t intervene when it comes to the rising price of oil, because it\u2019s the free market that decides not the government.<\/p>\n<p>This was a statement made by PM Edi Rama during a press conference on the current energy crisis as a result of the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Rama said that \u201cwe\u2019re living in times of war\u201d, we have no idea how long they\u2019re going to last and as a result, we will be faced with the unknown \u2013 much like we did, during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Rama also noted that according to him, it\u2019s absurd to suggest lifting the tax on oil and that the government\u2019s collection of taxes, is what\u2019s keeping energy prices at the current level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are hearing absurd proposals like lifting all taxes on oil.
