Each day, residents of Tirana are forced to get on jam-packed public buses that are filled way over their usual capacity.<\/p>\n

In addition, they are also forced to wait for long hours at a time for each bus to reach the station.<\/p>\n

According to Tirana\u2019s City Hall, citizens have to wait at a bus station for an average of 3-13 minutes.<\/p>\n

Euronews Albania reporters, however, investigated this on the ground and found out that waiting time can reach upwards of 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Citizens themselves complain not only about the long wait times but about the constantly overcrowded buses as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a big issue. [We have to wait from] 20 minutes to half an hour. And there are many commuters too. 100-200 people in a single bus,\u201d \u2013 said a citizen.<\/p>\n

\u201cForget about sitting, that\u2019s not even an option. But I was worried about getting in. I couldn\u2019t. Now, I\u2019m waiting for the next one,\u201d \u2013said another citizen.<\/p>\n

Citizens are often forced to hold on to the bus doors because there is no place to sit.<\/p>\n

These problems are an all-year-round issue for Tirana’s citizens, but over the past couple of weeks, things have gotten even worse.<\/p>\n

Many bus routes have been cut down to 50% capacity since the beginning of the Ukraine war and the oil crisis that followed as a result.<\/p>\n
