Alqi Bllako will not have Socialists on his side. As it has happened in the past, with the most recent case being the one with Lefter Koka, the Socialist Party claims that the \u2018individual must give accountability for himself\u2019.<\/p>\n

But what are the procedures that lead to the arrest of a member of parliament?<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the Council on the Rules of Procedure, Mandates, and Immunities will convene to discuss Bllako\u2019s arrest, but in this case, he will not be supported by the members of his own party.<\/p>\n

After hearing out any claims that the MP might have, the Council will have two weeks to submit a report to Parliament.<\/p>\n

According to the procedure, the report contains a recommendation on whether the MP should get arrested or not.<\/p>\n

But at the end of the day, the members of parliament get the final say after a vote at the plenary session.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, it seems that in this case, the Socialists do not intend to prolong the procedure<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bllako will not lose his seat in parliament automatically, even if the latter decides so. He will have to resign first.<\/p>\n

But if he doesn\u2019t, he will lose his mandate after a 6-month absence in parliament, and Pandeli Majko will take over his term.<\/p>\n
