Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic proclaimed victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections held on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Another round won\u2019t be necessary as Vucic secured around 60% of the votes.<\/p>\n

Zdravko Ponos, a retired general representing a pro-European coalition, ranked second with 17% of the votes.<\/p>\n

Vucic\u2019s Serbian Progressive Party received 43% of the votes at the parliamentary polls, while the opposition only 13%.<\/p>\n

In his victory speech, Vucic said that the main challenges ahead are good neighborly relations, as well as maintaining good ties with the traditional allies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that we face many challenges, but the most important thing for Serbia is to have good relations in the region, to continue the European path, but at the same time maintain our relations with traditional friends,” Vucic said.\u201d<\/p>\n

The war in Ukraine was among the main themes throughout Vucic\u2019s campaign, with the Serbian President vowing to remain militarily neutral and keep friendly ties with Russia.<\/p>\n

Kosovo Serbs traveled to Serbia to cast their ballot after the Kosovo government refused to hold the elections on its soil.<\/p>\n

More than 25 buses picked up Kosovo Serbs in Northern Mitrovica so they could vote in Rashka.<\/p>\n
