{"id":34423,"date":"2022-04-15T14:11:06","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T12:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=34423"},"modified":"2022-04-15T14:11:06","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T12:11:06","slug":"meta-reveals-the-reason-why-he-left-the-socialist-party-back-in-2004","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/meta-reveals-the-reason-why-he-left-the-socialist-party-back-in-2004\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta reveals the reason why he left the Socialist Party back in 2004"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Ilir Meta spoke to the press today, during which he revealed the reason why he left the Socialist Party back in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Meta said that Fatos Nano\u2019s administration had blocked the country\u2019s European integration process, which is why, he decided to leave SP and create a new party \u2013 the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) \u2013 in 2005, which played a crucial role in overthrowing the Socialist government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI left SP in 2004, because it had turned into an obstacle for the country\u2019s European integration, while also blocking the agreement of stabilization association. This was the reason why I created a new party, the Socialist Movement for Integration \u2013 so that we could free up the way for our European integration process and I was able to do this because after 2005, SMI played a detrimental role in overthrowing a government whose only priority was power and corruption.
