{"id":34798,"date":"2022-04-22T09:10:28","date_gmt":"2022-04-22T07:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=34798"},"modified":"2022-04-22T09:23:14","modified_gmt":"2022-04-22T07:23:14","slug":"cannabis-grow-homes-becoming-a-worrying-phenomenon-says-former-police-chief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/cannabis-grow-homes-becoming-a-worrying-phenomenon-says-former-police-chief\/","title":{"rendered":"Cannabis grow homes becoming a worrying trend, says former police chief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The adaptation of houses into cannabis farms is becoming a worrying phenomenon, said on Friday former police chief Arben Hajdarmataj in an interview for Euronews Albania.<\/p>\n<p>At least 15 farms were busted this year, according to official police data.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the police discovered 26 homes that were adapted as cannabis farms.<\/p>\n<p>The devices used to create an adequate environment for the cultivation of cannabis cost around \u20ac15,000.<\/p>\n<p>Hajdarmataj says traffickers have opted for this method as the plant grows faster and it attracts less attention.<\/p>\n<p>The only problem is that the lamps used spend too much electricity.<\/p>\n<p>But according to the former police chief, growers have found a way out of this problem. Usually, they cooperate with the employees of the electrical supply company in order to intervene with the power measuring system.<\/p>\n<p>Hajdarmataj says the technique is exported from other countries.
