{"id":35095,"date":"2022-04-26T18:26:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-26T16:26:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=35095"},"modified":"2022-04-26T18:29:08","modified_gmt":"2022-04-26T16:29:08","slug":"serbs-and-bosnians-to-apply-for-authorization-before-entering-croatia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/serbs-and-bosnians-to-apply-for-authorization-before-entering-croatia\/","title":{"rendered":"Serbs and Bosnians to apply for authorization before entering Croatia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Serbians and Bosnians will no longer be able to enter Croatian soil with their passports only and are being required to obtain a travel permit first.<\/p>\n<p>As per the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) entering into force next year, travelers from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as other countries in the Schengen Area, will have to present a travel authorization prior to entering Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is expected to affect thousands of Serbs and Bosnians crossing the border on a daily basis, as well as those who live near the border. The new rule is set to enter into force in May 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Croatia, other countries that could soon start implementing the rule are Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania.<\/p>\n<p>currently, there are 63 countries from across the world that will need to apply for authorization before entering one of 26 Schengen countries, including Croatia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania.<\/p>\n<p>According to the European Border Agency (Frontex), around 1.4 billion travelers will be affected by this new rule.<\/p>\n<p>however, the procedure is fast and simple and can be completed by filling in a form on the website.<\/p>\n<p>The form asks for traveler&#8217;s data as well as information on his or her health status, travel to war zones, and criminal precedents.
