The third return of Sali Berisha as head of the Democratic Party is a personal victory, but for DP, it is a step backward.<\/p>\n

This is what journalist Erl Murati said during Euronews Albania\u2019s NOW with Erla\u00a0 Mehilli, during which he also stated that Berisha\u2019s victory shows a lack of ability of the Albanian political class to reform and our lack of democratic culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cBerisha\u2019s return is an inability of the political class to reform and a lack of democratic culture. We are the only country whose three main politicians come from the previous century. This was his own personal victory. His victory didn\u2019t flow naturally. The fact that DP spent 9 years with Basha as leader and Berisha only came back when he was declared non-grata means that it will be difficult for DP to win the elections,\u201d \u2013 said Murati.<\/p>\n
