A majority of worshipers only head to these institutions on religious holidays. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The rest of the population does in fact go to church, or mosques, at least once a month (5.9), once a week (7.9%), and more than once a week (5.4%).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-37197 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-1-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"603\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-1-1-1.jpg 603w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-1-1-1-300x159.jpg 300w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-1-1-1-150x79.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 603px) 100vw, 603px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Based on a 2011 census carried out by the Institute of Statistics, almost 80% of Albanians declare that they belong to a certain religion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-37198 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"628\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-2.jpg 628w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-2-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-2-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">A majority (57.8%) think that they have as much faith in a religion as their parents do. One in five citizens (21.8%) think that they tend to have less faith than their parents, and smaller numbers (19%) are those who actually are more faithful than their parents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-37199 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-3.jpg 597w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-3-300x151.jpg 300w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/lajmi-1-3-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">A considerable majority (73.9%) have maintained the same level of faith as they had 10 years ago. A fifth of Albanians (18.7%) declares that they tend to be more faithful today, than they did 10 years ago, and only 6.3% said they have lost faith in the last decade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The recent findings are from Euronews Albania\u2019s Barometer, conducted by MRB and Data Centrum on a national level via 1,000 face-to-face interviews from April 25 to May 7.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Half of Albanian citizens (50.7%) never visit churches, mosques, or tekkes.
