Former foreign minister and PDK MP Enver Hoxhaj said that Kosovo should be part of the Open Balkan initiative, even if it meant it was just an observer instead of a full member.<\/p>\n
During a recent interview, the former minister emphasized that the last Open Balkan meeting showed that his initiative has the full support of the United States.<\/p>\n
Kosovo, as a new country, should become a member of every regional organization and not get isolated or excluded from such roundtables, from which the country could benefit greatly.<\/p>\n
\u201cKosovo\u2019s statesmanship isn\u2019t calculated in Ohrid. Kosovo\u2019s statesmanship and sovereignty is calculated in Brussels, in Berlin, in Washington, and above everything in the UN,\u201d \u2013 said PDK\u2019s MP.<\/p>\n
On June 7 and 8, a meeting on the Open Balkan initiative took place in Ohrid, North Macedonia. The meeting was finalized with 3 memorandums and an agreement.<\/p>\n
The agreement signed amongst participating countries is linked to the war on tax evasion.<\/p>\n
The 3 memorandums involved the recognition of university diplomas, cultural cooperation, and cooperation in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n
Kosovo is the only country out of the 6 Western Balkan countries that continues to refuse to participate in the Open Balkan initaitive.<\/p>\n
