The Serbian Director of the Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, stated that the North was one step away from the conflict and according to him, this was because of Prishtina and not Belgrade.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the press, Petkovic said that Albin Kurti is to blame for this situation as he said that he is dangerous, writes RTS.<\/p>\n

“This shows how dangerous he is, but also that the threat to the Serbs in the north of Kosovo does not stop,” said Petkovic.<\/p>\n

He added that Belgrade does not seek conflict, as President Aleksandar Vucic has mentioned the word peace in his speeches.<\/p>\n

However, a day before the upheaval, Serbian president Alexandar Vucic posted a photo showing Kosovo\u2019s map covered in the Serbian flag with the inscription \u201cWe won\u2019t surrender!\u201d.<\/p>\n

On July 31, Serbs in Kosovo set up barricades on the roads leading to Jarinje and Bernjak, due to the government’s decision on Serbian license plates and documents.<\/p>\n

The Government of Kosovo said that it will postpone the implementation of the decisions on the issuance of entry-exit documents for citizens of Serbia entering Kosovo and the one on the change of Serbian license plates, when the blockades are lifted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
