In September, the Socialist government will start work on changing the law on the mandatory opening of files containing data from former collaborators of the Secret Intelligence Services that were active during Enver Hoxha\u2019s regime.<\/p>\n
Several initiatives from both the Socialist majority and the opposition have been submitted to Parliament on more than one occasion.<\/p>\n
SP\u2019s caucus leader, Taulant Balla, said on social media that the proposals of the Files Authority for the review the certificates of purity will be approved. These certificates have been previously issued to politicians but now that new evidence has arisen on existing politicians that might have been former collaborators, the law will need to be amended.<\/p>\n
“During the new session, the Albanian Parliament will have to address the unacceptable and absurd situation of a year ago. \u00a0It\u2019s unacceptable that a party secretary declared non grata by the United States of America and the United Kingdom, continues to defile this institution with his presence and language”, said Balla, who responded to Berisha’s and Meta’s accusations about the incinerators and the representatives’ ties to crime, reminding them of their own problems with the law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
