The number of permits has little difference, but what is different is the total surface area for construction.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the area was about 1 million and 120 thousand square meters, while in 2021 it exceeded 1 million and 650 thousand. The difference of 530 thousand square meters more construction in 2021 than in 2020 suggests that in 2021 the number of permits for high-rise towers was higher.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by Co-Plan, the Municipality of Tirana collected only from the infrastructure impact tax about 51 million euros in 2020. In 2021, the figure is estimated at about 65-70 million euros.
