Tahiri claims to have served most of this sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s session was postponed due to the absence of his lawyer, Maks Haxhia.<\/p>\n<p>If the Court of Elbasan accepts this request, his sentence will be reduced by at least 1 and a half years, from the 3.4 years which he was sentenced to.<\/p>\n<p>On February 4, the Special Court of Appeals for Corruption and Organized Crime upheld the decision made by the first-instance court, by revising Tahiri\u2019s sentence to 5-years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>When factoring in for summary conviction, Tahiri will now be serving a sentence of 3 years and 4 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Tahiri was appointed Minister of the Interior in 2013, at the age of 34.
