A piece of the tragedy and beauty of Ukraine, through the eyes of renowned Albanian author Ben Blushi, made its way to Prishtina this Monday. <\/span><\/p>\n

His photo exhibition entitled “Ukraine in 10 hours” is now on display at Kosovo’s National Museum in Prishtina.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blushi’s work as a photographer – although he says he is still an amateur – was highly praised by experts in the field who attended last night’s event. According to them, these images have historical importance and are beneficial to Kosovo, but they should also serve as a lesson for the latter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The exhibition itself speaks of how much can be done with a small camera because even just 10 hours are sometimes enough to experience what happens there every day, right at this moment and for a very long time now,” said photographer Eliza Hoxha. <\/span><\/p>\n

“This exhibition is very interesting, especially for Kosovo Albanians,” added journalist Milaim Zeka.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I am very pleased to see this exhibition. Photos have the power to speak to the audience. Although they were made very quickly and in a short period of time; they are truly impressive. I want to underline how important it is to support Ukraine because this is not a war only for Ukraine, but for all of Europe,” said Tom\u00e1\u0161 Szunyog, head of the EU Office in Kosovo. <\/span><\/p>\n

Honored by how this exhibition was ultimately presented to the public, were also those <\/span>who made it all possible. <\/span><\/p>\n

“During the war, you shot the suffering, the resistance of these invincible people, that’s why there are many things in common that Kosovo and Ukraine share in these moments,” – declared Qemal Minxhozi, ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Extraordinary messages, messages from these freedom-loving people, who never stop fighting and seeking independence from the occupier,” added Eridana Cano from the Center for Openness and Dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Albanian Embassy in Kosovo, along with the Center for Opening Dialogue and the National Museum of Kosovo contributed to launching this event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The author of these photographs himself, after recounting his experiences during his trip to Ukraine, revealed some of the reasons why he brought his work to Prishtina. <\/span><\/p>\n

“You understand better than anyone what it’s like to be violated by a foreign army. But this is not the only reason why I wanted to come to Prishtina. There is also the fact that Ukraine, but we as well, do not know what direction this conflict will take, I hope that it will be resolved peacefully and that Russia will withdraw to where it belongs, but the impact of the war in Ukraine may also have an effect on our countries, especially Kosovo. <\/span>Kosovo is probably the European territory that could be more easily disturbed by the Russian wave in Ukraine,” said author Ben Blushi, adding that he found Prishtina and Kosovo to be quite lonely this time around, so he had a piece of advice for citizens on both sides of the border.<\/p>\n

“You are very alone. 2 million inhabitants are currently here, half of whom are fleeing, many are also fleeing Albania. The only way, for both parties, is to unite,” he said. <\/span><\/p>\n
