Lawyer Spartak Ngjela says that the attack on Sali Berisha, where he was punched by a citizen from the crowd during yesterday’s protest, is a great insult to the chief democrat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Ngjela said that if the attack was in fact ordered by a foreign group, then this is a warning to Berisha, “not to stick his nose” where he shouldn’t.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama is interested in Berisha continuing to be a part of Albanian politics, since the latter does not have enough votes to defeat him, and he sees him as the farthest option to replace him as the head of government, so according to Ngjela he is the last person who could have something to do with this attack. <\/span><\/p>\n

“I didn’t expect it, but Sali’s situation has worsened consecutively. <\/span>We don’t know who might have hit him or why. We know a man who they’re saying suffers from mental issues which I can’t exactly elaborate on as we still lack a motive. Even someone who suffers from a mental disorder can have a motive, and we still don’t know the motive as to why he decided to punch [Berisha]. But, for Sali Berisha it is a pretty big insult, it is a very big insult, don’t you understand? He is in a political race, the opponent could at any point use this, how do you think politics works? He came out and punched him, he punched him, it’s all over the press. The electoral campaign will start soon, it will be published every second, and they will even add it to their electoral spot, it is definitely an insult. But who did it and why it was done, we still don’t know.<\/p>\n

So who did it, Albanians might have done it, or someone might have done it for revenge, or maybe it was internationals who did it. Berisha said that Albanians did it, Rama did it. In my opinion, Rama is the last one who could have done this, because according to Rama, Berisha is exactly where he wants him. He doesn’t have the votes necessary to defeat him. And if you want to accuse him, you need to bring out the proof. Now the question is, are Albanians behind this or foreigners? Let’s exclude Albanians for a second because that would be very risky, it could have been done to insult him, anyone could have done it. Now, if internationals are behind this, then there are greater questions that arise. Why? In my opinion, seeing how they’ve been operating for the past 30,40 years. It’s a warning. If they’re the ones behind this, it’s a definite warning, a warning telling Berisha he can’t poke his nose where he shouldn’t. And Berisha knows full well, where he’s “poked his nose”. So, if they did it, let me ask you, who wants to destroy the Summit? Who are these foreigners? Belgrade and Moscow. The Summit has raised tensions in both Belgrade and Moscow,” – he argued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
