The hope amongst Albanians that they are on the right path toward joining the EU has increased.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>sked by Barometer on Euronews Albania if they expect Albania to become part of the EU in the next 5 years, compared to 2021 when only 16.4% of Albanians believed this to be the cast, in 2022 a staggering 35.9% believe the statement to be true, i.e. 19.5% more than a year before. <\/span><\/p>\n

Those who think that we will join the EU in the next 10 years also presented a slight increase, from 29.3% in 2021 to 32.2%. <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, those who think that we will join the EU in the next 15 years showed a very small increase, from 13.8% in 2021 to 14% this year, i.e. a 0.2% increase. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the number of pessimists has decreased. <\/span><\/p>\n

Those who thought that our country will need more than 15 years to join the EU, from 14.1% in 2021 have now gone down to 9.5% in 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n

In drastic contrast, there are also those who think that the doors of the EU will never be opened for us. From 23.6% who believed this to be true in 2021, this year, only 3.5% believe this to be the case, a decrease of a staggering 20.1%. <\/span><\/p>\n

53.3% of Albanians think that our country is now closer to EU membership, 20.7% think that it is further and 20.3% think that there is no difference compared to last year. <\/span><\/p>\n

When we give these opinions a political overtone, it turns out that of those who think that membership is closer, 73.7% are SP voters, and 31.2% are DP voters. <\/span><\/p>\n

Among those who think we are further away, 9% are SP voters, and 38.9% are DP voters.<\/span><\/p>\n

While among those who think the same, 16.1% vote left, and 24.4% vote right. <\/span><\/p>\n

Albanians are pro-European and this is confirmed by the figures shown in this survey, as 95.9% of Albanians support our country’s membership in the EU, while only 0.5% do not.<\/span><\/p>\n

For 95.7% of Albanians, EU membership is very important, while for only 0.4% it is not important.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
