As of 1:30 p.m., the next hearing for the mandate of Foreign Minister Olta Xhacka has started at the Constitutional Court. <\/span><\/p>\n

In this second session, it was the group of Democratic MPs who support Sali Berisha who submitted to the court the request for the removal of her mandate as a member of parliament and minister. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is learned that present at this session are Democrats Agron Shehaj, Luciano Boci, Albana Vokshi, Oerd Bylykbashi and Edmond Spaho.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The legal representative of the opposition MPs, Franc Nuri, stated that it is not up to the Parliament to decide whether it is a violation or not, but up to the Constitutional Court.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Parliament violated the constitution by not taking the case to the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court must solve the case on its own merits”, said Nuri. <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s worth mentioning that the opposition claims that the mandate of the Socialist MP, Olta Xhacka, should be considered invalid because her husband directly benefited from public property by being declared a strategic investor by the Committee headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama in a direct conflict of interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
