On the third day of the trial, Krasniqi showed how he started his journey in the defense of Kosovo, he also talked about the 1981 demonstration where 11 young people were killed and hundreds more were imprisoned.<\/p>\n
The former KLA commander said, among other things, that the accusation against him in The Hague has no logic since he was not involved in any murder, imprisonment or persecution.<\/p>\n
“After finishing my studies, I first worked as a teacher in my village and then as a professor in the gymnasium of Drenas in Kosovo. I was aware that all the knowledge in the world would not be enough to change the situation of the Albanians in Yugoslavia. That’s why I became part of the clandestine organization, which aimed to unite Kosovo with Albania, this happened in 1973. In 1981, due to great dissatisfaction, young citizens in Kosovo organized demonstrations to demand equal rights. These demonstrations were violently suppressed by the military forces of Yugoslavia, where 11 young people were killed, and hundreds more were arrested. Terrible violence towards me too. During the two investigative processes that took place against me in 1981, I experienced horrors that cannot be described in words, my hands and feet were swollen from the beatings.<\/p>\n
After two trials I was sentenced twice, in 1981 I was sentenced to 14 years in prison and the second time in 1982 to 15 years in prison. No investigators, no prosecutors, and no judges were responsible for the torture I experienced during that time and have not been the subject of criticism in my writings. I do not understand the logic of the current accusation against me. Systematic violence was perpetrated against our people. There were imprisonments, murders and violence. I have not been involved in any murder, any imprisonment, and any form of pressure on anyone.
