{"id":53170,"date":"2023-05-18T14:45:08","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T12:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=53170"},"modified":"2023-05-18T14:30:24","modified_gmt":"2023-05-18T12:30:24","slug":"april-inflation-higher-than-forecast-for-albania-foods-cost-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/april-inflation-higher-than-forecast-for-albania-foods-cost-more\/","title":{"rendered":"April inflation higher than forecast for Albania, foods cost more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to data from Eurostat, inflation in Albania during April 2023 reached 5%, higher than the figure of 4.6% presented by national institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Eurostat data found that the most significant price increase over the month was 9.4% in the food and non-alcoholic beverages sector, followed by furniture and home appliances with 6.7%, clothing and shoes, entertainment and culture, and miscellaneous goods and services each at 4%.<\/p>\n<p>Other categories of goods witnessed a smaller increase, for example alcohol and tobacco and cars and restaurants with 3.3%, health with 2.5%, rent and utilities with 2.4% and communications with 1.1%.<\/p>\n<p>As for decreases, transport fell by 3.9%.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2023, inflation at the European level experienced the highest increase in Hungary with over 24%, in Latvia with 15% and in the Czech Republic with around 14%.<\/p>\n<p>Eurostat\u2019s consumer price index is designed to measure the change in the average level of prices paid for goods and services by private households, collectives, and tourism spending in Albania.
