Richard Grenell, the head of intelligence in the Trump administration, was asked this evening about the “non-grata” announcement of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.<\/p>\n
Grenell said in a televised appearance that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is too politicized.<\/p>\n
He stated that he asked Blinken for evidence about Berisha, but he did not see any.<\/p>\n
“I have never met Berisha. I and many conservatives are very worried about Blinken, he is very politicized, it is sad what he has done to DASH. He said many times that I have information about Berisha, we will put the conservative party of Albania under sanctions, and many people were surprised. We asked for evidence, we asked DASH for information. I was acting director of the National Bureau, I also had a dual role as ambassador to Germany and special envoy to the Balkans. As acting director, I was very involved in information about the Balkans.<\/p>\n
I would know something like that about what was happening in the Balkans with the conservative party. I never saw it. I’m not suggesting there isn’t, but I didn’t see anything like that. I think it is important that DASH respond to the Republican members of Congress who have asked to see this information. This is a serious charge. When DASH goes after a conservative party in another country and makes these accusations and the congressional Republicans say where is this evidence, where is this information tell us and they haven’t done it, you have created a doubt,” said Grenell.<\/p>\n
The former head of Intelligence was asked if the investigations into the head of the DP started in the Trump administration, but he denied it.<\/p>\n
“I didn’t see anything like that. Members of Congress should be informed. The decision was clearly made by Mr. Blinken. We owe it to the members of Congress to make an effort and get answers”, he emphasized.<\/p>\n
