{"id":54148,"date":"2023-05-29T16:37:33","date_gmt":"2023-05-29T14:37:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=54148"},"modified":"2023-05-29T17:09:19","modified_gmt":"2023-05-29T15:09:19","slug":"cardiac-problems-the-main-cause-of-death-for-albanians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/cardiac-problems-the-main-cause-of-death-for-albanians\/","title":{"rendered":"Cardiac problems listed among major causes of death in Albania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cardiac problems and strokes are the main cause of death for Albanians.<\/p>\n<p>Included in the group of &#8220;Circulatory System&#8221; diseases, they account for 54.5% of deaths in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>According to INSTAT data, &#8220;Chronic heart diseases&#8221; are the cause of 42.2% of deaths, followed by &#8220;Brain vessel diseases&#8221; with 22.5% and &#8220;Ischemic heart diseases&#8221; with 22.3% of fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>After the heart and the brain, experts say that deaths from unspecified, natural causes or from old age account for 20.3% of the total number of deaths in the country. What is noticed is that in the age group over 70 years old, 82.3% of deaths have the main cause &#8220;Death from old age&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Tumors, even though they have decreased, continue to be among the main causes of fatalities in our country. 3232 people during the year 2022 lost their lives as a result of tumors, thus accounting for 13.5% of the total deaths.<\/p>\n<p>According to INSTAT, 97% of deaths in our country are due to diseases, 2% from accidents, 0.2% from murders and 0.8% from suicides.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cardiac problems and strokes are the main cause of death for Albanians.
